Contest to select ‘Coolest Thing Made In SC’ started with 175 nominated products
COLUMBIA, S.C. — Sixteen products remain in the inaugural Manufacturing Madness presented by BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina. The winner will earn the title of “Coolest Thing Made in SC.”
Nominations were accepted Feb. 7-25, resulting in 175 nominated products. The public voted Feb. 28-March 4 for their favorites, and the top 16 vote-getters advanced to the bracket.
Voters now will visit scmanufacturingmadness.com to select a winner from each pairing in the bracket, cutting the field in half each week until the ultimate winner is selected from the Top Four. The winner will be announced in a ceremony at the Statehouse on March 30.

The contest has captured the interest of people from across South Carolina. Manufacturers from every corner of the state were represented in the initial group of 175 nominated products, and votes have been pouring in.
“With more than 5,000 manufacturers, including some of the most iconic brands in the world, South Carolina manufacturing is the foundation of our state’s economy,” SC Manufacturers Alliance President & CEO Sara Hazzard said. “These 16 finalists provide a compelling snapshot of the high level of innovation and quality that are hallmarks of South Carolina manufacturing. They should each be proud of advancing this far, and our entire team at the SC Manufacturers Alliance is excited to see how the voting goes from here.”
Remaining Contest Timeline
March 7-11: Top 16 bracket voting
March 14-18: Top 8 bracket voting
March 21-25: Final round of bracket voting
March 30: Winner announced
