PricewaterhouseCoopers Assurance Leader to Keynote Aerospace Dinner

The South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA) and the South Carolina Aeronautics Commission announce that Scott Thompson, U.S. Aerospace and Defense Assurance Leader at PricewaterhouseCoopers, will be the keynote speaker for the fourth annual South Carolina Aerospace Dinner. The dinner will be held in the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26, 2015.

The dinner is featured as a component of the second annual South Carolina Aerospace Conference and Expo, which will be held on Aug. 26-27 in Columbia. Tickets for the conference and dinner may be purchased separately. Student pricing is available for both events.

Thompson is based in PricewaterhouseCooper’s Washington, D.C. office. His extensive industry and client knowledge stems from his experience serving some of the firm’s largest aerospace and defense clients. Thompson’s background includes strategy, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), operational improvement and compliance. He also has significant experience with government contracting regulations and compliance.

In his role as the aerospace and defense assurance leader, Thompson is responsible for audit quality and service. His aerospace and defense experience covers financial reporting and disclosure requirements, internal control and implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Act Section 404, coordination of large multinational audit engagements, business combinations and merger integration, corporate governance, and employee benefits.

Thompson is an author of several aerospace and defense whitepapers and articles, including the 2015 Aerospace Manufacturing Attractiveness Rankings. He is also a regular contributor to Aviation Week.

The South Carolina Aerospace Conference and Expo are designed to bring together leaders from the aviation industry, government and the investment community. The event highlights South Carolina’s emergence as a top destination for aerospace manufacturing and research and will feature:
