Haier America To Expand in Camden

Haier America is expected to announce an expansion at its Camden, SC manufacturing facility this week. The company currently operates a 300,000 square-foot plant that employs 250 people. The expansion project is expected to add 250,000 square-feet and over 400 jobs.

Haier’s South Carolina manufacturing facility is located in The Haier America Industrial Park is located at 50 Haier Boulevard in Camden, South Carolina. The $40 million facility on 110 acres of land was opened in March of 2000.

Haier America is a wholly owned subsidiary of China-based Haier Group, the world’s largest major appliance brand as ranked by Euromonitor International 2014, and a global leader in consumer electronics. Haier employs more than 70,000 people around the world and distributes products in more than 100 countries and regions with global revenues reaching $32.1 billion in 2014.
