The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce recently released the 2015 Workforce & Jobs Report, a S.C. Chamber publication detailing the state of the South Carolina workforce and current trends and challenges.
The report provides updates on initiatives for preparing the workforce, trends in automotive and aerospace and the new types of jobs coming to South Carolina, an update from the Department of Education and Workforce, and news on protecting employees’ right to work. Experts from both business and government contributed to the report.
South Carolina Chamber of Commerce President Ted Pitts said, “The future of South Carolina’s businesses depends on a strong and capable workforce. And while our workforce has demonstrated over the years that we are one of the strongest in the country, we have room to grow and adapt as the needs of businesses change.
The South Carolina Chamber will continue to support an increased focus on programs to develop a skilled workforce to support existing and new business in South Carolina.” The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, the nation’s first state chamber Accredited with Distinction by the U.S. Chamber, is the state’s largest statewide broad-based business and industry trade association representing more than 18,000 businesses and more than one million employees. As the unified voice for business and industry, the Chamber is a catalyst for increasing wealth and enhancing the state’s global competitiveness in order to improve the quality of life for all South Carolinians.
