Letter from the editor:
No one provides a deeper insight into the reality of South Carolina’s manufacturing sector more than its industry voices. In maintaining this vision and editorial focus, South Carolina Manufacturing (SCMFG) is honored to announce Sen. Tim Scott as a quarterly contributor.
No sound bites or selective commentary here. We remain dedicated to relaying the thoughts and ideas of the state’s manufacturing decision makers.
Be it apprenticeships, chemical safety, tax reform or a range of other topics, Sen. Scott said it is important he contribute to SCMFG to openly discuss issues impacting manufacturers and the economy.
“I look forward to sharing interesting stories and vital information to our manufacturing industry,” he said.
In addition to Scott, the Greenville Area Development Corporation’s CEO, Mark Farris, has also joined SCMFG as a quarterly contributor.
Although more than 70 percent of the GADC’s prospects were manufacturing-related in 2015, a critical group of companies across the state often go overlooked.
“Given the jobs created, wages, taxes paid, purchased goods and services, these overlooked firms represent the greatest return on investment to communities,” he said. “I am excited to support South Carolina Manufacturing by providing insight into both our successes and challenges as we work to recruit and retain manufacturing jobs and investment for Greenville County and all of South Carolina.”
Other notable contributors to SCMFG include manufacturing related submissions from Greenville Tech, PNC Bank, McNair Law Firm, Tri-County Tech, Ranger Aerospace, SC Bio, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Charleston Regional Development Alliance, the South Carolina Manufacturing Extension Partnership (SCMEP), and Apprenticeship Carolina.
As we move forward with our contributors and business partners, the pace of our growth has become staggering.
Over the last 30 days, SCMFG is continuing to see a mammoth return in online page views, hovering at nearly four pages per visit. (The industry standard is between 1.5 and 2 pages)
In total, SCMFG saw nearly 10,000 page views since mid-May.
Not only have we maintained a fantastic page view average, we have also seen our bounce rate remain at an incredible low rate. During the last month, SCMFG’s bounce rate was just 21.88 percent. (The industry standard is approximately 50 percent)
As we extend our coverage statewide, we will continue to rely on our ALL-STAR editorial board and the men and women working every day to improve and grow the South Carolina manufacturing industry.
SCMFG’s mission is to not only provide decision makers across the state and region with updated commentary from their contemporaries, it is also firmly committed to improving the manufacturing sector.
We are happy to provide our readers with up-to-date news, information and industry-related thought leadership.
